Violence in America Inc

OMAHA, Neb. – A man opened fire with a rifle at a busy department store Wednesday, killing eight people before taking his own life in an attack that made holiday shoppers run screaming through a mall and barricade themselves in dressing rooms. Five more people were wounded, two critically. A 19-year-old high school drop-out opened fire with a rifle at a shopping mall in Omaha, Nebraska, yesterday, killing eight people and injuring at least five others before turning his weapon on himself.

The man lived for a little more than a year with a friend’s family in a house in a middle-class neighborhood. “When he first came in the house, he was introverted, a troubled young man who was like lost pound puppy that nobody wanted,” said Debora Maruca, who owns the home. Maruca said the man was fired from his job at a nearby McDonald’s this week and had recently broken up with a girlfriend. Mark Barton, a 44-year-old chemist-turned-stock market day-trader, killed his young wife and two children (from a former marriage) over a Tuesday and Wednesday period, and on Thursday went on a shooting spree at two brokerage firms.According to notes left behind he killed his children, whom he loved, to spare them “a lifetime of pain.” “I don’t plan to live very much longer, just long enough to kill as many of the people that greedily sought my destruction. You should kill me if you can.” It was noted that this was not the first time Barton snapped.

Although never indicted, he was the prime suspect in the brutal slaying of his first wife and mother-in-law six years ago. He had taken out a $600,000 life insurance policy on his first wife shortly before she and her mother were found slashed to death at a campground in northeast Alabama. America  Inc. is a sick entity and is currently in activities which makes it a sick society. Here is just a partial list of shooting incidents since the beginning of the year 2007:* In January a woman walked into a downtown Salt Lake City office building with a grocery sack of bullets and opened fire, killing one person.* In March a Johnson City , Tennessee man shot his lawyer and another client in an apparent dispute over his wife’s will.* In April a 71-year-old man raked the first floor of the Mormon Family History Library in Salt Lake City with .22-caliber handgun fire, killing two people and wounding four others before police shot him to death.* Last month a psychiatrist in Southfield, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, was shot by a former patient, who then gunned down a 45-year-old woman and wounded four other people, before fatally shooting himself.

Then there is the wave of high school shootings, culminating in the carnage last April at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Atlanta was the scene of another high school shooting in May, which resulted in numerous injuries.  To this list one could add the fact that two days before the Atlanta massacre the Surgeon General issued a report on the alarming increase in the suicide rate in the US.In a bizarre and tragic way, these explosions of individual rage, fear and violence are expressions of the acute social disease flowing through the cultural veins of American society. This enormous crapping –American violence-on the picture of a prosperous and powerful nation makes America Inc., perhaps the most dysfunctional and hypocritical society on the planet.

The his-story of violence is essential the product of a society that is increasingly riven by a cast system, with the flaunting of obscene levels of wealth and waste by a privileged few existing along side an increasingly desperate, struggle for survival on the part of the lowers cast and impoverished masses.Further more America Inc. glorifies the market, wealth and greed goes hand in hand with a relentless assault on the economic security of the general population and the age old two edge sword of the “right to bare arms”. The folly-tricksters – made men and owned subsidiary of big business has left no venue for recourse, in the political system, for the needs and concerns of working people to find expression, support and therapy. There are no massive organized fight for social justice, just often times well meaning splinter groups with their own personal agenda.

The media and the entertainment industry promote Neanderthal like social world view such as religious classism and racism, chauvinism, selfishness, militarism— importing and exporting the agenda of corporate America at home and over seas.Recent shootings at Columbine high school, Virginia Tech and other institutions are not exactly isolated incidents, but ones that are more highlighted by the media as never before.  Between 1993 2000 there has been an increased incident of School shootings across the North American Union.  Experts have identified certain characteristics of the perpetrators of these crimes as
