In 1962 Song writer Pete Seeger wrote an interesting song, culled from the King James interpretation of the European fantasy book-the Bible. The inspiration was Ecclesiastes 3, verses 1–8, where the flow of the universe was explained to the simple minded during those times.
Growing up under Christian Colonization I do remember certain passages and verses that stay with me to this day. To me this passage is derived from the ancient over standing of how the universal forces flows through the reality we call nature.
To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time for every purpose, under heaven
The universe is raw energy. The many forms this energy takes include water, air and the various types of matter. The seasons physically reflect the changes that happen when the earth revolves through its cycles (turn, turn, turn). As the seasons change nature is affected and in turn we are affected physically, socially and emotionally. During each phase we consciously or subconsciously follow the path inbeded in our DNA, which is connected to the planet.
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
The universe moves in phases-this is interpreted and created as the passages of time by those unable to see ahead and beyond in eternity. The ebb and flow of the primordial waters, the planet revolving on its centre and the changes we see as we move towards and away from the most powerful magnetic ball of energy ever witnessed, creates the seasons. Metaphysically the seasons reflect that which is in our selves and community. The thin line separating the yin/yang of the universal forces is the line of MAAT.
Without MAAT there would be chaos. An imbalance in the fabric or the flow of the universal waters happens. There is a break down in the law of the universe. To continue to do one thing only is impossible to do with out the counter balance of the other. To go down that path is isfet.
A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
Those who interpret how things work to suit their needs fail to over stand that creating attachments to things of small or limited value, diminishes not only that things value but diminishes their own worth. The universe constantly seeks to flow into the space we provide, providing that we make space. Change is constant, with out constant change, even in small things, the universal flow becomes stagnant and stagnant water is dead.
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing
Love-Hate, two side of the same coin, the things we love soon becomes the things we end up hating. As with all things if taken to extreme then yields the opposite of the intended, thus the scale of MAAT reflects the heart being as light as a feather, signifying balance in views and actions.A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time for peace, I swear its not too late
By not overly attaching oneself to anything, one over stand the beauty and benefit of that same thing, thus the value increases many fold. The saying, “it is what it is” and “it maybe a good thing it maybe a bad thing”, indicates an acceptance of things beyond your control, yet also an acceptance that all things bear instructions and offers the opportunity to learn. We follow the path of learning in order to complete our evolution from pure energy, to matter and back to pure energy. During the period of transformation on this plain, we are to increase the frequency and vibration of our energy selves so that we prepare for the next transformation back to the primordial waters. If we fail to respect the law of ebb and flow, we end up leaving a good chunk of our energy in a state of heaviness. This heaviness holds us and binds us, untill we can learn to let go off “things” and learn to vibrate on a higher frequency. What is our interpretation of this passage? Share!
